Born in Carenga, West Trinidad, Machel montano’s family moved to Siparia in South Trinidad at his very young age. He attended Siparia Boy’s R.C and continued Presentation College in San Fernando. It was here in the college days, he gave his first shot, which become popular too, “Too Young to Soca”. Machel montano along with his older brother and neighbors formed a group, to start Panasonic Express in 1989. This band later became Xtatik. Machel montano has also appeared in a mainstream television show, Star Search. His second song was, “Dream girl”, which again was a great hit.
